Just when we think it's bad....The zookeeper, the elephant, and the berry enemas

By
Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker

I was tooling around on the Internet last night and I was amazed how some can be prone to bad luck. I think this is another case of having respect not only for the luck of the early bird, but also the early worm's bad luck. I did change one word from the 2008 Darwin award below. You can substitute the original word back in at the end. This guy truly had a crappy day and without further spewing on my part...

THE SUPREME WINNER OF THE DARWIN AWARD IS....

It seems a Zookeeper named Friedrich Riesfeldt (Paderborn, Germany) had already fed his constipated elephant 22 doses of animal laxative and in addition to that more than a bushel of berries, figs and prunes before the plugged-up animal finally obtained relief. The local police department said the  ill-fated Friedrich, 46, was attempting to give the ailing elephant an olive oil enema when the relieved beast unloaded. The magnificent  force of the elephant's unexpected defecation knocked Mr. Riesfeldt to the ground where he struck his head on a rock as the elephant continued to evacuate 200 pounds of dung on top of him. It seems to be just one of those freak accidents that proves....  'Crap happens'. My heart really goes out to this guy, and I really don't think my days could ever even compare.  http://www.darwinawards.com/legends This is an entertaining site.

With this in mind it's safe to say we will have a better day, and a productive one. Have a great Day!

snopes.com to the rescue again.  According to snopes, my source for urban legend legitimacy, this story was started in 1998 and is totally false.  Check out the link - http://www.snopes.com/critters/malice/feces.asp.  Just letting you know.

Hi Steve

This story showed up in a recent periodal. In the darwin website there are three different variations.

I suspected it might very in time. Either way it is still entertaining.
