Closed Circuit to RE/MAX International

First...whats "closed circuit" mean? 

About 10 years ago when I was an Intern at KFAN Sports Radio in Minneapolis some of the talk show hosts used to always say this.  Its just sort of stuck with me.  Its was basically a message that they spoke over the air intended for one individual.  I think it was an inside joke... I thought it was funny. Except when they said, "closed circuit to Intern guy where are you with my Frosty. You have been gone for 1/2 hour."  I did not know where the closest Wendy's was.  What do you do!

On to the message: "Closed circuit to RE/MAX International you are going to want to interview me in about 3-4 weeks!  Its a Christmas/New Years Surprise!  I know you watch the blog role! So give me a shout!"
