Waconia is located right in the center of Carver County and is one of the most beautiful natural rural areas in Minnesota. Popular activities include bird watching, hiking, biking, and cross-country skiing. But, even with all this natural beauty, one of the things I like best about Waconia is a man made facility, Safari Island Community Center.
The building is a large aquatic center with an eight lane Olympic size pool and a leisure pool with a two story water slide, water play fountains and zero-depth water entry. There is also a children's play structure, four-court gymnasium, fitness center, and elevated running track.
Safari Island is a great place for celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, and special events. You can obtain daily and group rates for birthday parties, rentals and after hours lockins.
This month the center serves as a dropoff for the Waconia Toy Drive. There is a monthly newsletter with even more information.
