Last Thursday, I had coffee with Karen Dembsky and we talked about the staging business, our families and our pets. We both had recently had to put down our beloved dogs, mine of 9 years and hers of many more years. These pets become our family members and wrap themselves around our heart and we miss them when they are gone.
That evening, my husband came home and mentioned that my car had been hit in the rear passenger side fender. I didn't remember noticing a "huge dent" in the car, but I don't usually enter the car from the passenger side, so we rushed out to see "the dent" and there was this pet crate with a sweet little face peeking out and wagging his tail. And then I was putty in his big/little paws.....
Even thought I wasn't quite ready for another dog, it seems that my husband was. Our remaining dog, Carol Ann (named after the little girl in the movie Poltergeist), was lonely and needed a playmate and now she has one. She was excited at first, but now she's over it. I think that she's ready for him to go home....she's threw playing with him.
It's been a long time since I had to house train a puppy and he's keeping me quite busy. Although he's 4 months old and much calmer than a new puppy would have been, he chews everything he can find. Sticks, shoes, socks....Carol Ann's toys...you name it, it's been in his mouth. It's never a dull moment around here.
