Overland Park spring real estate home market is still a buyers market

Real Estate home market in Overland Park is in full bloom.

Now that the weather has generally improved from our long winter, our real estate market in the Overland Park and Kansas City area is in full bloom. It looks like the home's price and condition is going to continue to be a very important factor to buyers this year.

With having plenty of inventory available, buyers can have a choice of properties. Plus there are some really neat new loan programs available. For example, there is bond money available for the first time homebuyer. But many of the 100% loan programs are still there, but the same lenders have tightened up on some of the loan requirements.

Interest rates generally continuing to hover around the 6.25%, make our real estate market in Overland Park and Kansas City still very affordable.

We're waiting for the figures to come out for sales in March. It looks like we're going to be on track with sales similar to last year. But all indictations show, that if the home is in great condition and had some upgraded features, those homes are selling rather quickly.
