Our 27th anniversary !

My husband Rick and I just celebrated our 27th anniversary yesterday!  Time fly's, babies grow up to teens and time around us seems to fly by at a rapid speed.  Hard to believe two very young adults said to death to us part 27 years ago.  Those vows have never altered and we have seen each other through some very hard times.  One year my mom died of Pancreas Cancer and the next week my wonderful husband broke his back in 3 places.  Rick had been helping me care for my very sick mom, he never told me his back was hurting , and always helped me lift her, that is love when you sacrifice your back for your mother in law.  A week later he couldn't move and X-rays showed 3 blown disks,5 surgeries later my husband was still in terrible pain.  We almost lost everything, but my brother, friends and my family kept Our Landscape Design business going. When Rick was able to left alone I got out and worked very hard to keep his dream going.  We made it through everything because of commitment, we never gave up and trusted God to bring us through the storm.  We learned to live on cash basis and gave up credit cards and big spending, Sixteen years later we are debt free, except for a small mortgage. It was hard, and very tight, but we made it by working together.  I want to tell everyone you can make it, trust each other and work hard on your dream.  Everything is possible through Christ, and a commitment made to each other, through sickness and health, good times and bad always trust God and each other! Rick is a great husband and dad, and always puts others first, I want to honor him with everything in my heart and say I give all my love and heart to a great friend and husband.  The secret is your spouse really does have to be your best friend and you really do have to honor your vows, it is not just a thing you say when you get married, it is a life time commitment to each other and God. When times get hard, consider it a test and work hard to ace the test.  Always put GOD first then each other and you will go far!  HAPPY ANNIVERSARY

That is a wonderful thing to share. I am in a 2 1/2 year relationship with a wonderful man who I hope to be able to spend 27+ happily married years with. Your story is very inspirational and I hope many young couples feel the same way- so we can correct those broken marriages and make them good again. It is a huge commitment but it is one that will be able to sustain you in those hard times AND in the good ones.

Relying on God to help you through your marriage is paramount to anything else. You and your spouse seem to have done a wonderful job at that and I hope I too can have such happy results as you.

Congratulations and may you have 27 MORE happy years together!

Kind Regards, Nicole Weidauer
