That looks like a really nice house. What is historic about it?

Here's the rest of the story! This home is located in the Historic District of Milton, Delaware. The original house dates back to around 1900. My husband, who is a remodeling contractor that specializes in this kind of work, began the renovations in 2005. The original house was gutted and totally renovated with all new electrical and plumbing. All materials used were selected to maintain the look and feel of the style. For example, the first floor was done with variable width reclaimed heart pine wood. The new energy efficient windows are aluminum-clad wood windows. The addition was designed to look like the rest of the house and other homes like it in town. With the addition and by reworking the floorplan we were able to add a full Master Suite on the first floor. In the Master Bathroom, there is a large walk-in ceramic shower. At the rear of the home you might notice that there are no steps to that entrance. These are some of the features of Universal Design that makes this home one you can really live in.
