I AM NEVER IN SALES MODE.

By
Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker Residential

I have been exchanging emails with a broker here in Naperville.

He recently emailed me a marketing piece in an effort to recruit agents for his office.

It was nice...

I have been impressed with many things his office does to market themselves and their properties.

Bright yellow signs.  Balloons.  Tons of open houses...

Anyway, I let him know I thought he and his company were doing a great job.

At one point, he emailed me and apologized for "always being in sales mode..."

It made me chuckle, because I am never in sales mode.

I'm not.

I am always myself.

Friendly and helpful.

I tell my buyers, "I will never ask you to buy a house."

I never do.

Ken

Hi Ken, I never ask buyers to buy.  That is their choice.  I don't like pushy sales people and no one else does, either.

I still remember somebody told that the best salesman never sells things but people just buy from him/her.

Hi Ken,

We are alike in that regard. I am never in a sales mode other then to sell my self and my credibility. Even then that sales pitch is low key....just check me out is the pitch I give.

I treat people as I like to be treated....give them the room they need and the assistance and information they request.

My favorite real estate agent (before I became one) was the least salesman-y one I ever worked with, he didnt seem to care if I bought a house and always educated me so much.  I ended up buying from him 4 times because of how easy going he was.

Ken, I so agree with you, I have done business that way for 20 years.  I hate pushy sales people and never wanted to be one.

Hi Ken, we are the same way. We do make a point in letting people know what we do so they think of us but we're not pushy and like to educate our clients. We tell them that we aren't aggressive toward them but are aggressive when we represent them.

It feels real good.

I think my customers feel more comfortable.

Hi Ken... When you are not in sales mode it allows you to be REAL.  In my opinion, clients prefer and appreciate that.  It's a much better way to build lasting relationships that result in repeat business and referrals.

That's the way I do business, too.  I find that being myself, consulting with people, communicating and being of service is all the "sales" mode I need!  Mery Christmas!

Hey Ken.

We operate pretty much the same way - provide people with thorough accurate information, point out positives and negatives - after all that is in their best interests right? Listen to their wants and needs and guide them to their decision.  The only time I think we are truly in sales mode is when we are marketing for clients.

Maybe you should be in "sales mode" since you are a sales person. Maybe that explains your productoin:)
