Save the Sydney Anacortes Ferry!

The organizing meeting to save the international ferry run between British Columbia and Anacortes, WA will be held tomorrow evening (1/7), 6:00-7:30, at Anacortes City Hall.  The agenda includes key information on the Anacortes Ferry run and the ramifications of the potential cancellation, development of an action plan, and a comprehensive contact list.  The Anacortes Chamber of Commerce will also be coordinating the Jan. 15 Anacortes Ferry Advisory Committee community meeting scheduled for the Senior Center.

Jeab,  Why is the ferry in trouble?  Is it not used or does it have to do with security?  Karen

Well the ferry service costs the state $6 million more than ticket sales, but the tourism brings in $18 million dollars of business.

Hi Jean - I totally agree, the Anacortes ferry over to Sidney, BC mustn't be disbanded! Each time I cycle past the dock in Sidney there are always plenty of cars ready to roll on over to WA.
