You may have heard this, it seems to be the city slogan. But is it true? I guess it depends on your perspective. It certainly is not true in the summer. We are in Georgia though, so heat is to be expected. While Pooler may not be cooler in the weather sense. It is cooler than living in some of the downtown Savannah areas.
Pooler is a growing city. There are new homes, new retail shops, a new elementary school, and a new middle school all in the works. While, there is a lack a variety for entertainment and shopping, it is nice not having to deal with traffic and crowds of people. Although, Walmart on any evening or weekend can be quite an adventure.
So, what is there to do? For families with children, there is the Five Star Family Fun Park. They have two miniature golf course there. I admit some of them gave me a hard time, but I was also putting with only one hand. They have an arcade inside that is similar to Chuck E. Cheese, but also geared for teenagers. They have 4 go-cart courses for adults and/or kids. One is strictly for people over the age of 16. There are two that have double carts for taking children or your date along with you. And then there is one strictly for kids. They allow little 3 years old to drive in this one. YIKES! I wonder how many times the workers were run down by a three year old.
There is the Tom Tripplet Park or Pooler Park. The Pooler Park has tennis courts, a playset, baseball field, and such. It's perfect for letting the kids enjoy the weather and getting all their energy out. Tom Tripplet park has a historic area, and a frisbee football field along with lots of other stuff.
There isn't really anything in Pooler for couples to do here beside eat or miniature golf. The movie theatres, the best shops, the walking area along the river, and tours are all located in the Savannah area. I am sure that more entertainment is in the works as well. There is the Crosswinds Golf Course for all those golf fanatics out there.
Overall, Pooler is a nice place to live. Everyone is friendly and says hello. So come on out and see why Pooler is Cooler.
