I've been wanting to go to France for years.  But the Euro just kills it for me.  Just why oh why does the dollar have to diminish our buying power as much as it has?

For travelers like me, a weak dollar means I go to places where I get more for my money - the Caribbean, Mexico, and places where the dollar has been less affected.

As I plan a trip to France, trying to find vacation rental bargain for $100 per night or less, I managed to find a few bargains, even in Paris!

What I really love about searching for properties on Viscape is how quickly and efficiently it is to find bargains.  And the best part - is how can see just how close my apartment rental is to the Eiffel Tower and the Louvres!  The little blue markers pop up showing all the major highlights of Paris!  The last thing I want is to go to Paris and be in the suburbs!

So, our top picks -

Studio in Montmartre for $85 per night.  The owner/manager describes the studio as being close to where major movies in Paris have been filmed.  This is definitely my kind of place.  I'm not looking for frills.  I'm looking for being in the thick of the action.

The studio - Mayapart for $120 per night.  I like the price.  But not being able to see pictures makes me wonder why the owner couldn't make the effort to get these up.  I'd like to contact the owner, but my first question is where are the pictures?  I would be willing to bet the owner will then either email me pics or direct me to another website, which is inconvenient for me.  Hopefully, the owner will be kind enough to load pictures of their place directly onto Viscape for other's viewing pleasure.

1BR La Residence du Pont Arts for $108 per night - is one I am especially excited about.  I like the presentation.  It looks clean and nicely furnished and hip.  Plus they said the magic words "budget traveler".  They know who they serve.  The owner appears to know what he's doing, their place appears to be priced right, and I think I can fairly predict that I have a high chance of having a great experience here.

One last thing - I checked to see if there were any swaps.  I didn't see any.  :(  But all in all, I'm really excited about the choices for my trip to Paris!  Let me know if you'd like to meet me there!  We're looking at going in the May/Jun timeframe!
