What exactly is home staging?
Home staging to us is mostly a science --
- understanding the psychology of a home sale
- the effects that light, smell, visual stimulous can have on a room.
- using basic design principles, applying them to what appeals to buyers
- Investigating which updates and repairs will give home sellers the best possible return on their investment and improve their odds of a sale.

So, After months of relatively slow showings (like much of Salem's housing market) our listing on Fairmount has had a flurry of interested and impressed buyers. Furthermore, at the Open House yesterday, prospective owners of this great home were overheard to be "oooing & aahing" as they strolled from room to room. Still, there is more...another showing scheduled for today!!!
The conclusion that I have come to is that our dear friend, Margaret Oscilia must have cast some kind of VooDoo spell on the house when she took in some furniture to enhance the homes appearance. I mean, come on...it's only a few pieces of furniture and nick nacks, right??
