A Successful Parade of Homes

By
Real Estate Agent with Hagood Homes

Wow!” and “These homes are deceiving” were the sentiments I heard most often these past two weekends during our local Parade of Homes.  Sponsored by the Wilmington Cape Fear Home Builder’s Association, the Parade of Homes is always an exciting time for a neighborhood  specialist like myself, as well as the builders that participate, putting their best foot forward to offer the public an inside view of their craftsmanship.  My model home in SaltGrass at Marsh Oaks (www.SaltGrassAtMarshOaks.com), the Sea Lavender plan was entered in Parade this year, along with four other Hagood Homes.  Over the two weekends I saw over 400 people through the doors and the feedback was conclusive.  Folks were impressed.

Hagood Homes (www.HagoodHomes.com) are all designed by the incredibly talented Troy Kenny.  Her designs are all thoughtfully designed with lifestyle in mind.  For instance, Open Kitchen in the Sea Lavender Planthe open floorplan in the Sea Lavender overlooks the immense backyard yard, all of which lend to the idea of entertaining or even  every day living.   The master suites are conveniently located in the rear of the home, (also overlooking the back yard) away from the guest bedrooms offering the most in privacy and comfort.  The Study or Hobby Room is also conveniently located near the kitchen – that was a surprise that pleased my visitors during the parade.

The excitement doesn’t end with the floorplan, instead it’s complimented by the attention to detail Hagood Homes offers.  wainscotting in foyerThe foyers are adorned with wainscotting, matching the trim detail under the windows in the formal rooms.  formal window detailOversized crown moulding and baseboards finish out the formal areas of the home.  Ten foot ceilings add to the charm and spaciousness of the homes.

With all those visual details, it’s easy to miss the attention applied “behind the scenes”.  All our homes in SaltGrass are built on a sealed crawl space (www.crawlspaces.org), each home is outfitted with a 16 seer Lennox heating and air system including a Energy Recovery Ventilator (http://www.lennoxcommercial.com/products/overview.asp?product_id=9).  In short, this system cleans the air in the home and the air that is coming into the home through the heat pump.  This weekend I had a woman who has asthma ask how long our model had been open.  She was surprised by my answer and proceeded to tell me how her asthma usually acts up in new homes, and she actually felt better walking through our home.

While my model home has sold, we have several other homes available immediately in the neighborhood and have many opportunities to build the plans found on our website (www.SaltGrassAtMarshOaks.com).  Located within the finest neighborhood in uptown Wilmington, NC our communityEvening at the pool in Marsh Oaks offers a swimming pool, newly renovated clubhouse, tennis courts and a state of the art playground.  I can attest to the livability of the floorplan and the neighborhood – I’m a proud owner in SaltGrass, and as a Realtor, I wouldn’t live just anywhere.  I’m picky, just ask my husband!

I definitely like yours better than ours!  Sometimes ours get too fancy with finishes and facades until they don't look like the belong together.
