ActiveRain's NEW Membership Plan
Just in case you missed that ActiveRain changed this morning
WHOOOOOO
Who did you think of today just before 5:00 AM PST? (that is late here... in the eastern time zone, it was 6:15 7:15 AM when I started thinking of who I should get to post their first post, so they would "get in under the wire" I could have called a couple of people. I think I had about 45 minutes really when I realized Brad's post said AM not PM.
Who do you wish had jumped onto ActiveRain? Or posted their first post?
The three people I thought of this morning about prodding (with a cattle prod) to get them to post were.
1. My manager who was bound and determined NOT to post. Member, never posted.
08/12/2006 | Accepted | Tom (Tom.Holcombe@RealLiving.com) | 58 points |
2. A friend in my office who joined and then quit... I usually forget he did not accept my invite so I never got points for him... but it's not about the points is it? It never was. My friend Eric*
3. Teri Lussier although she surgically removed her posts and profile from ActiveRain, Teri was "an apprentice" in the blg ole first season of ActiveRain's Project Blogger so there is no removing all the fingerprints she left on ActiveRain. A missing link... was my clue she was gone... a broken link to a post. There have to be many. She explains in a comment on Brad's post WHY she quit ActiveRain.
No regrets
I have a lot of other people I invited who never took the opportunity to post.... but I thought of those three people... of all those I invited who joined ( 80 + it used to say somewhere but I can not find it anymore...) those I inveted who never become active or quit.
I did NOT think about inviting new people before 5:00 AM PST. I have been done actively inviting for a long time on ActiveRain. Did you think about last minute invites?
I thought about calling Tom and Eric and saying "hey post something quick..." forgetting that Eric had quit at some point. I even thougth to call and say "what's your password? I will write something for you quick" ... Seriously.... but that would not have been right would it? Mea culpa
You can bring a horse to water but you can not make them...
Of course we will all be watching to see how this works out for ActiveRain. Will people pay? I see a few loop holes in the plan. Cheryl Johnson pointed out it changes the plan for Localism again...
"On the other hand, that kind of wipes out the idea of opening Localism up to small local non-real estate businesses."
ch, ch, changes....
EDIT* 2013 WOW not a friend anymore and it was linking to his site.
