I'm writing this on Tuesday, but it's really for Thursday night, February 19th, and our Active Rain gathering in center city Philadelphia coordinated by our infamous FHA mortgage specialist Jeff Belonger...!!!  

Now, I anticipate having a wonderful time greeting some of my Active Rain Blogging Buddies at Cavanaughs on Thursday evening!!!  

Putting a face on people you feel you've befriended but never personally met is exciting...Jason Sardi, Jeff himself, and other Rainers in the Delaware Valley region of PA & NJ...I expect to see some New Yorkers there, some Delawareans, D.C. folk, and who knows where else...!!!  

What a disappointment...!!!  

Only 8 of us showed up...I don't know whether it was the weather that was the problem or people were just too busy to make it...  

Like most Active Rain gatherings, we had a good time...putting faces on names you have known for months is always exciting...  

Stephanie Somers was as cordial and pleasant in person as she is on the Rain...Steph's husband Chris, sadly couldn't make it...Hope he's feeling better...!!!  

Scott Geary, my buddy from Lehigh County, proved to be the gentlemen he is on our beloved network...Beth Forbes, absolutely delightful, and of course, the inimitable Sardi man, Jason himself, the conversationalist you would expect him to be...  

Jeff Belonger, FHA man...he's the guy who set this all up...many thanks to him...munchies were great, and the price was right...nice ambiance, too...!!!  

I can't wait until our next gathering...  

Maybe with nicer weather we can get more of you guys to show up...!!!  

Somehow, I remembered to bring my camera, so here's the group...

Fran, no worries on crowd size. Relationships are built one person at a time. I'd rather connect with a few than travel through the room not engaging anyone.

Fran.... thanks for showing up. It was a pleasure to finally meet you. And ticked that not many showed up?  I am more than ticked...    But I had that booked for 15 people and I paid in advance for that price.  People just don't understand what these things mean, to meet in person. And that people take the time to put these together.  But I do thank you and Gil for showing up.

Fran - Great little post !  I heard it was a good time.  Sorry I was not there - my migraine was fierce and it carried into all of Friday as well.  Stephanie had a lot of good things to say about you and I am so glad she went.  It is a little whacky why more folks would not make it, but then again, there are not that many active bloggers in Philadelphia... have no idea why ?  There are a lot in both Bucks County and Montgomery County.  Either way, I look foward to meeting you at the next one !  ~  Chris Somers
