What a wacky month March was. Our hearts go out those affected by the Japanese tsunami. The Dow Jones Industrial Average finished March as the strongest Q1 since 1999. We saw Spring come and Winter leave, but not without a fight. As we sit here in the midst of April showers, waiting for our lawns to turn green and our hydrangeas to begin blooming, let's take a look back at the month of March in terms of Monmouth County real estate, and The Grande at Colts Neck more specifically. We'll start broad and drill our way down.   252 homes sold in all of Monmouth County during March, up from 212 the previous month. An additional 491 homes were listed for sale in March. The snow has melted. So, here is your real estate update for February 2011 for The Grande at Colts Neck. For the month of February no new homes came on the market in The Grande. While no new homes were added to the market we did see one home which was put under contract in January 2011 close this month. #4 Exeter pass was on the market for 192 days. It was originally listed for $525,000 then reduced to $515,000, and eventually closed at $482,000. Compared to last year, current inventory of The Grande is low. The Colts Neck Historic Preservation Committee anounced its biggest and most detailed annual home event to date. This is the tenth year for the popular event which could draw their largest crowd to date. Highlighting this years tour are stops at the following historic locations: Four JG's Winery on Hillsdale Road where guests will enjoy a wine tasting and explore the estate where local grapes have produced wine since the 1700s. Perchance I met Jennifer Pellechio-Lukowiak last year, another Colts Neck, New Jersey resident. Jennifer is a talented artist who creates and sells handmade pottery. Many of her most popular works include Tuscan, Italian themes. Her stuff is earthy and rich.
