Will Stopping the Foreclosures cause a Slower Housing Recovery?
 
I completely understand why they have stopped foreclosing on houses until the major banks are able to put procedures in place that are fair to home owners and to the states' economies.  One thing I am not sure about is whether or not the banks will go ahead and continue the foreclosure process on houses that are sitting vacant.  If the owners have already left the premises, then these houses need to go ahead and be sold so that the market can begin recovering from these low sale prices.

Foreclosures | What is going on with foreclosure filings in the Carolinas?
The national foreclosure filing numbers are out and the news is decent given the situation.  The number of foreclosure filing has dropped nationwide by 5.14%over the period of the first six months of 2010 compared to the last six months of 2009.  These numbers were given by CNNMoney.  The report also notes that 1 in 78 houses is still in danger of foreclosure.  The three states that lead the nation in foreclosure filings are Nevada, Arizona, and Florida.

Wow...there are some real deals and some real busts in the foreclosure market.  I have viewed about 10-15 foreclosures in the last 3 weeks and every one of them was interesting and had its' own story.  Most of the story is told by the black mold, torn wallpaper, busted windows, broken cabinets and missing AC units.  One was even covered with what could only be explained as bullet holes.  Okay, I must say, none of these homes were listed for more than $100,000 so you can begin to imagine the setting.
