localism: Pride of Pike 4th of July Celebration.....

Here in Pike County we will be hosting our Annual "Pride of Pike 4th of July Celebration on July 3rd from 4:00 to 11:00 p.m. The Annual Independence Day Parade will begin at the Pike County Primary School and end at the park. At dark it will be time for the huge fireworks show with live entertainment continuing after the fireworks until 11:00pm. Activities will include inflatables, rock wall, miniature train and face painting. Live entertainment will begin at 5:30pm. Great food, arts & crafts and other items for sale.

About every seven years or so, we get a REAL VISIT from Ol' Man Winter himself. I took the following pics earlier this afternoon as we traveled around the county. I LOVE winter church scenes, as you will be able to tell, along with some other scenes. I know to those of you that get snow all the time it does not seem like much but we get rather excited when it visits our area!

TIME IS RUNNING OUT.....for the 2009 Tax Credit Deadline which ends November 30, 2009. This credit is available to first time homebuyers and/or people that have not owned a home in the last 3 years. *The federal credit is 10% of the purchase price up to $8,000.00 and the state credit is up to $1,800.00 or 1.2% of your purchase price. After attending our local boards annual 2009 Realtors Celebration this past Friday evening, seeing the awards earned after the tough market we faced in 2008, was very encouraging. To all the homes viewed, customers and/or clients served, loans put together, schedules rearranged, marketing ideas, educational/training classes attended and everything else that goes with our profession.....congratulations to all our local board winners!

localism: Zebulon's Pride of Pike 4th of July Celebration

What makes our county a great place to live? Even though considered Metro South we still have the small town atmosphere as displayed through our local events. One of our events is the Pride of Pike 4th of July Celebration. Friday, July 4th, it begins at 4:00 p.m. with a parade and ends at 11:00 p.m. Where else can you take your family for only $5.00 (parking fee)? Vendors from all over come to set up their booths of crafts, different food, drinks and all kinds of "fun" for the kids.
