Fannie Mae, the largest financier of home mortgages, has announced that, starting July 29, it will accept loans from borrowers with a debt-to-income (DTI) ratio of up to 50% of their gross income, compared with the current 45% standard. The higher DTI limit allows borrowers to potentially buy a more expensive home or hold more credit card and auto debt along with their mortgage debt and still qualify for a loan purchased by Fannie Mae.
Although this new DTI limit is significant, Fannie Mae has purchased loans with DTIs above 45% on a case-by-case basis for the past several years. And Freddie Mac, another GSE … (2 comments)

Tesla rival Lucid Motors plans Casa Grande plant PHOENIX — A California startup will build a $700 million plant in Casa Grande to manufacture luxury electric vehicles.
