The Houston Zoo is hosting Zoo Boo during specific days during October which is designed to be a family friendly event. The Zoo inviting all little ghosts, ghouls and goblins to come to the Zoo to celebrate Halloween. The Zoo encourages all children to come dressed in their scariest or prettiest Halloween costumes. Bring along trick or treat bags.

Last Sunday October 2, 2016 I was in Costco Katy TX to find there were numerous Christmas decorations and gifts already displayed for sale. I had to shake my head as we have not even got past Halloween yet and but we are already getting polluted with Christmas stuff. Frankly the Halloween decorations were few and far between.

There is a group named RedShirt Fridays whose basic mission is to support our service men and women by wearing a red shirt on Fridays. I just became aware of this group in the last few days. I am wearing a red shirt here in Katy TX today in support of all of our current service men and women and all of our Veterans.

We Slept on a Sailboat Saturday Night
This past Saturday evening, being October 1 2016, we had the pleasure to spend the night on a sailboat docked on Galveston Bay at a slip in the Houston Yacht Club located in Shoreacres TX. Our friend owns a 38 ft. Beneteau sailboat and this was a first for both Yolanda and I sleeping on a sailboat. We have been on cruise ships before where we slept but not a sail or motor boat overnight.

September Marked My Working Out Anniversary in Katy TX
Sometime during middle of September 2016 marked the three year anniversary of me working out on a regular basis here in Katy TX. I decided back September 2013 to begin the workout journey and have constantly followed this path ever since then. We go to Life Time Fitness which is a 5 minute or less drive from our home in Katy.

One of my favorite places to visit and shop is Trader Joe’s (TJ’s) in Katy TX. I usually go on weekend as I do not have time to visit during any given week. Yesterday I went as I had specific items to purchase for a Sunday dinner.
October is Pumpkin Month at TJ’s as all month long they feature numerous products containing pumpkin. The fact is TJ’s features something special every month. The South West International Boat Show is being held at South Shore Harbour Marina starting on Friday September 23, 2016 and lasting through Sunday September 25, 2016. The show is in the water and Promoters are stating this is the largest in-water Boat Show of both power and sailboats in the southwestern USA. Yes indeed we were awaken this morning at about 3 AM in Katy TX to the very unpleasant sound of a fire/smoke detector telling us its battery needed to be replaced. We guts it out as Yolanda did not tell me to get up and shut off that horrible noise. I did get up at 5:30 AM to workout. I spent a lot of time trying to figure out which of 10 or so detectors we have was the culprit this time. I cancelled my workout plans as time slipped away … (31 comments)

The 24th Annual Katy Triathlon will be hosted once again by the Katy Rotary Club. The event will be held in and around the Firethorne neighborhood in Katy Texas and will take place on Sunday October 2,2016 with the starting time at 7:00 AM.

I read our friend Roy Kelley 's post last weekend suggesting an excellent way to end the week is post a picture from your photowalking in your neighborhood of flowers. Roy always has wise suggestions and I thought if I got the opportunity I would do just what he suggested. I am sort of watching the Broncos and Colts play ( go Broncos) and ready to call it a day for the internet. I have to get gas at Costco and start dinner.
