austin tx realtor: Point2 SEO - Do It Yourself? - 02/14/11 05:25 AM
I've seen a few articles on AR about strategies for SEO on Point2 sites.  But I only find those that seem to advertise a service for hire --- someone to re-work your SEO for you.  Being a DIY-type, I'm much more interested in the top things I need to do in getting my site to the first page of Google on my own.
Has anyone attempted (and hopefully succeeded in) getting your Point2 site to the top of Google by your own efforts?
I've heard a few strategies that involve a lot of deep linking and changing the text on pages … (2 comments)

austin tx realtor: How Much of 2010's Strife Was Caused by Me, Not the Market? - 12/29/10 12:15 AM
Shining a spotlight on my own professional shortcomings is, at first, about as pleasant as a lengthy dental appointment. It's like my old high school job of checking groceries, where every January the store manager would sit me down for a performance review. I'd go in all nervous, certain I would be turning in my badge for some unknown offense. "You're doin' good, Pounds. But...," is how he would start, and then he'd give me critiques, some constructive and some not, that would inevitably help me be a better employee.
As agents, we're on both sides of that desk! We have … (3 comments)

austin tx realtor: How Realtors Can Help Their Communities: Sell Houses, Be a CASA! - 12/21/10 02:51 AM

Here are the top ten reasons for choosing Bradley Pounds as listing agent for your Austin TX home for sale:
1) I'm always available. I eat, sleep and breathe this stuff and take calls well into the night without hesitation.  And you'll never reach an assistant --- my cell is with me 24/7.
2) This is a tough market and if selling is not in your best interest at this moment, I will tell you.  I would rather have a happy client in the future than an immediate commission on a home that sold for much less than what it's worth … (0 comments)

austin tx realtor: I Dreaded "Picture Day" At School As A Child . . . Now I Dread Agent Headshot Day - 11/14/10 12:53 PM
The headshot you see on my profile is not great, I'm the first to admit. But would you believe it's the best of three attempts??
The title companies here occasionally offer agent headshots for a discounted price.  And for some folks, they turn out great! But for those of us who couldn't take a good picture to save our lives, it's a real bummer!
First of all, not everyone looks good in black and white photography!  And the pitfalls abound... getting your hair cut the day of or the day before is a big gamble, as it can make you look … (3 comments)
