Concept Here on the Seacoast, young professionals ages 25 to 40 make up a distinct portion of the community's demographic. With that in mind, six young professionals in Portsmouth have come together to host an annual event focused on having a good time, while doing some … (0 comments)

Springtime and Spring Clean Up on the New Hampshire Seacoast By John Brackett
Here on the New Hampshire seacoast spring fever is one little April shower rainbow away from becoming a full blown epidemic. Weather aside, take a walk out your front door and get comfortable, don't worry about mosquitoes, aren't active yet. Let your feet touch the soft ground. Can you smell that earthy scent wafting about. Have you seen the Robins lately? The Red breasted Robin is aggressively searching out grubs and worms and meanwhile keeping an eye out for that special lady robin. Wild pussy willows … (1 comments)

seacoast: Market Data for the Seacoast - 02/03/10 06:58 AM
Market data from the Seaocast Board of Realtors shows a decline in home sales for the month of January. Although the buyer tax credit was extended, the enthusiam isn't there as it was in the fall. Many buyers that I talk with now are casually looking but don't feel the need to get in before the deadline, they don't want to feel rushed into buying a home just to get the $8,000. There is a lack of urgency. I expect the influx of spring market listings will help bring buyers away from their computers and out at open houses and showings. … (0 comments)

Say hello to Bonjour delivery service
By Rachel Forrest business@seacoastonline.com February 03, 2010 1:30 PM
It's the dead of winter, the snow is falling and it's cold outside. Or maybe it's summer and downtown Portsmouth is so busy you just don't want to deal with the parking and the crowds.
So who are you going to call if you want some good food and don't want to cook? Just say "Bonjour" and voila! Your food is delivered to your door by a pleasant person wearing a jaunty red beret. OK, they don't have the berets yet, but they … (0 comments)

seacoast: Can't E-FILE?!?!?! - 01/26/10 10:44 AM

Due to Scams, Homebuyers Can’t E-File Their Taxes 0 Published By : Jana Schreiber on Tuesday, Jan 19th, 2010, 10:44 am Since extending and expanding the home buyer tax credit to the new April 30 deadline, it has been revealed that new buyers can no longer file their taxes electronically. According to CNN Money, because people have been scamming the system, buyers now have to mail paper forms, including the new  IRS form 5405, whether amending their 2008 taxes or claiming it on their 2009 taxes.
Mary Mellem of David & Mary Mellem, EAs & Ashwaubenon Tax Professionals, indicates that, “Because of the … (0 comments)

It seems that everyone is trying to be more green these days.  Whether their inspiration is for the greater good of the planet, their body or their wallet being more green can only be a good thing.
