Speechless Sunday - My Bed, My Bad... I got in late last night (1am) from Washington DC... lots of connector flights, so it was really 4am east coast time. When my head finally hit my pillow(s), I was in heaven.
Unfortunately, I had forgotten about a 10am appointment I had made with a friend for breakfast this morning. When my alarm went off at 9:45am... it was loud, waking me out of a deep sleep. Sugar plums were still dancing in my head. I didn't want to leave my cozy, comfy cocoon... but I did. I rarely pass up an opportunity to chat and chow with friends.

Oh My... The Planets Have Aligned! I woke up this morning with a smile on my face ;) When I arrived at the office, I was greeted with a beautiful flower arrangement delivered by an appreciative client. Then I received a call from a colleague telling me, out of the blue, how grateful she is to know me and that she thinks the world of me. Then I received a second call from a dear friend who offered to bring me some of her homemade chicken pecan salad for lunch (Yumm!). Whew... what's going on here?

Accepting Self-Limiting Beliefs... Must We? I've always wanted to play the piano. I even bought a 100 year old piano and took lessons in my 20's. Then, life happened and the dream slowly faded.
I've always loved to dance and I especially love salsa music. Every evening, I entertain myself by dancing around my house to some cool tunes from my iPod. I've thought about teaching a class and inspiring others to shake some bootie, but the thought of organizing it overwhelms me, given my current business and civic responsibilities.

Introducing the Active Rain Realtor Nationwide Survey - Southern Oregon. Looking back in my rear view mirror this week, I realized that the Grants Pass Southern Oregon real estate market has taken a turn for the better. Entry level homes, priced from $150K - $200K are receiving immediate offers, and sometimes multiple offers. This is something we haven't seen in years. Even the $200K - $300K properties on acreage are moving again. This seems to be the market that most out-of-state Buyers want. Unfortunately, the higher end properties are not flipping like they used to.

Melinda Peterson's Adventures in Washington DC - Day 2. Today, I woke up to sunshine in Washington DC, but the weather quickly turned to clouds and rain. Coming from Oregon, I planned ahead and brought my umbrella. I shared an early morning breakfast with my B&B hosts/owners, Laura & Raymond Saba (who are very nice folks), and then it was off to the NAR Conference at the Marriott Wardman Hotel.

The Tax Credit is Over... Now Maybe I Can Get Some Rest! Yeah! I am not complaining, but the last few weeks have been crazy! Trying to get several Buyers into contract by April 30 nearly put me into a coma!
I am looking forward to at least one week of rest and relaxation. Then, I am off to Washington DC for NAR's mid-year conference. Can't wait. Bye Bye Mrs. Greedy Seller - Hello Mr. Motivated Seller! Last week, I had some great clients visiting Southern Oregon, looking to buy a home for future retirement. Very reasonable folks with reasonable expectations. We located just the right property that fit their criteria and they made a generous offer.
Unfortunately, Mrs. Seller got a bit greedy and countered our offer. Mind you, this home has been on and off the market since 2006 with no previous offers.
