Big news for Southern Utah: Mormon Temple Announced for Cedar City, Utah. Mormons, and many non-Mormons, know that this is a tremendous boost for the economy of a small city like Cedar City, Utah. While the number of temples is growing worldwide, there are only a few places in Utah that enjoy the benefits of having a temple located right in town. For Mormons, or Latter-day Saints (LDS), the opportunity of having an LDS temple within a few minutes drive, rather than an hour, or several hours away, has practical as well as religious benefits.
