Catonsville July 4th Celebrations and Parade
We love living in Catonsville.  It's close enough to everything and has loads of amenities and still maintains that small-town feeling.  And, nothing says small-town more than great 4th of July celebrations.
The Catonsville 4th July planning committee outdoes themselves every year and 2022 is no different.  All-day, starting with the 8th annual bike ride to Ft. McHenry at 8:30 leaving from Atwater's Bakery,   815 Frederick Rd, and culminating with a Mammoth Fireworks Show at 9:15 at Catonsville High School.

Fireworks and Our Fur Friends
There is no other holiday that has as many fireworks as Independence Day (July 4), except maybe New Year.  
Are your pets afraid of thunder?  Loud noises? Perhaps Fireworks?  As many know we adopted a rescue this past spring.  We are still learning what her fears and terrors are.  When I'm walking Sadie I notice she jumps when a loud truck goes by or when a car goes over a metal plate in the road.  A few weeks ago we had a bad thunderstorm and she crawled up in my chair and hid behind my back.  I think … (4 comments)

Call Me Old Fashioned - Memories of July 4 From By Gone Eras
As I started my day today I was given pause for thought that today didn't feel much like a holiday.  A lot of the festivities have been moved away from July 4 because it is in the middle of the week this year. 
I'm not American.  I was born and raised in Canada and moved here about 15 years ago, so my memories might be colored a little but I listen to stories from friends and family members who are born and raised American citizens.
