Fireworks and Our Fur Friends
There is no other holiday that has as many fireworks as Independence Day (July 4), except maybe New Year.
Are your pets afraid of thunder? Loud noises? Perhaps Fireworks? As many know we adopted a rescue this past spring. We are still learning what her fears and terrors are. When I'm walking Sadie I notice she jumps when a loud truck goes by or when a car goes over a metal plate in the road. A few weeks ago we had a bad thunderstorm and she crawled up in my chair and hid behind my back. I think it's safe to say she's afraid of booming noises and will probably be afraid of fireworks too.
You may want to visit your vet to get a sedative for your fur friends so they won't be so anxious during the celebrations.
We take Sadie to Paradise Animal Hospital at 6350 Frederick Road in Catonsville. We love them, the staff and vet are very friendly and caring. If you need a vet we highly recommend them. And, you can book your appointment online and they are practicing covid safety.
