schofield barracks: A Tragic Start to the Labor Day Weekend on Oahu (Honolulu County) Hawaii | Safety FIRST! - 09/03/11 04:16 PM
Four soldiers stationed at Schofield Barracks in Wahiawa, Oahu (Honolulu County), Hawaii were able to walk out to Mokolii Island, best known as “Chinaman’s Hat”, during low tide yesterday at about 1pm. They decided to head back to Kuoloa Beach Park on the Windward side of Oahu during high tide and ran into trouble.
You can read more about the tragedy here:

schofield barracks: Mililani Market Report | Mililani Home Sales January to February 2011 - 02/28/11 03:43 AM
In 1971 my family moved to Mililani and it was in the beginning stages of a 40 year Master Planned Community development of single family homes, condos and townhouses with the first homes built in 1968.

Miililani is centrally located to all military bases on the island and 5-10 minutes from Schofield Barracks and Wheeler Army Airfield, 20-25 minutes to Hickam AFB, Pearl Harbor Navy Base and over the H-3 to Kaneohe Marine Corp Air Station in a matter of 35-40 minutes.  We have three shopping centers and seven recreation centers (five have pools) with many community activities for all ages.

schofield barracks: A Courtyard on Schofield Barracks - 01/26/11 04:39 PM

A gorgeous courtyard picture and amongst the beauty of a well manicured landscape I paused. You know, we can stop dead in our tracks when we view something that catches our eye and immediate thoughts begin to arise. A story to tell from a still picture captured with those first impressions that were implanted in our memory bank to store for later when viewing the picture shot at that moments notice.
I could see a garden tea party with women wearing long frilly dresses and bonnets with a parasol to protect them from the morning sun. A couple sitting on the bench beneath … (9 comments)

schofield barracks: Another Hawaii Based Soldier Deploys to Iraq - 08/28/09 06:32 AM

Century 21 Liberty Homes is close to the Schofield Barracks and Wheeler Army Air Field. We see many soldiers come and go and come back again.
This time it was my son in law's turn. I had lunch with him before he had to start processing for deployment. He left last night from Hickam AFB.
I remember the day when the war with Iraq was announced. It was March 19th, my son's birthday and he was on the USS Kitty Hawk in the Persian Gulf. I had no clue until they announced it on TV.
I've watched family and friends and clients come and … (21 comments)

schofield barracks: Walk the Talk In Your LOCAL Real Estate Market - 04/17/08 05:51 AM
Every Monday morning we (sales agents) meet to discuss our current sales, new listings, office policies, any newsy stuff for the office, the market and marketing at Century 21 Liberty Homes office in Mililani, Hawaii. One thing that keeps coming up is pricing. Though our Hawaii Real Estate Market is pretty stable in sales prices, the number of sales went down over the last two years. Understandable. There is no boom and there isn't a bursting bubble either.
BUT in the last month inventory is down a little, buyers are coming back out with reasonable interest rates and though sales prices of single family homes went down a from … (33 comments)

schofield barracks: Hawaii Military Relocation Package - Schofield Barracks & Wheeler Army Air Field - 03/06/08 10:21 AM
So....you are Relocating to Hawaii with the Military and...you are going to be stationed at Schofield Barracks Army Installation or Wheeler Army Air Field. (adjacent right next to each other in Central Oahu) Wheeler used to be an Air Force base and was returned to the Army on November 1, 1991. History shows that the soldiers from Schofield started clearing way for an aircraft strip back in February of 1922 and named in November of 1922 honoring Major Sheldon H. Wheeler who died on July 13, 1921 when his aircraft  crashed during a demonstration. Wheeler Air Field became a separate base on … (33 comments)

schofield barracks: Schofield Barracks, Hawaii's Fallen Soldiers - 08/24/07 04:34 AM
The military based here on Schofield Barracks (which is about 5-10 monutes from our Mililani office) and Wheeler Army Air Base are constantly on our minds daily. The majority of our clients and our tenants for our office rentals are military. A lot of them deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan who have families here. Who have babies that have never seen their mom or dad yet. That we are in constant contact with every day.
A Black Hawk helicopter crashed in Iraq on Wednesday and we all were waiting word to hear if we knew any of them. Two of my clients that are … (18 comments)
