Located in Rockingham County New Hampshire, Newfields is a small town with a population of approximately 1600 people. Located along the shores of the Squamscott river, Newfields abuts the towns of Newmarket New Hampshire, Exeter New Hampshire, Stratham New Hampshire, and Epping New Hampshire. First incorporated in 1849, the town was originally called Newfield Village. Newfield Village was originally just a passage way from Stratham to Exeter with a bridge that was built to cross the Squamscott River. Newfields has always been an important part of the Seacoast New Hampshire history because of it's location at the mouth of the Squamscott River.
