This past weekend my phone was buzzing. Not with agents who wanted to send spectacular offers on one of my listings. No it was buzzing with agents who didn't leave the house prepared to show houses to their clients.Personally I'm a check and double check kinda gal. realtors: 190 Knot Headwinds and Real Estate in 2008

While flying to Denver for the Christmas holidays our flight seemed to take longer than usual. The pilot came on to announce that it wasn't our imagination that we were facing 190 knot headwinds and though it might seem like we were standing still we were making progress towards our destination.It made me think about our local real estate market this past year. Even though the news continues to report more bad news than good we have made progress. Our inventory is lower than it was a year ago. realtors: Threatening E-Mails-What’s a Realtor® To Do?

It was a shock. The email threatened bodily harm and destruction of personal property. The email came from....my family! Many of us have been working at full speed all year and our families have been there to support us all along the way. Now with the holidays approaching they are ready to spend some quality time with us. Since our family is flying to a central location from multiple continents it makes sense that our time together be a "work free" zone. realtors: Leaving On A Jet Plane-NAR Watch Out!

Packing up my little 3 oz bottles and my cute little 9 inch computer and heading to the airport to catch a plane to the NAR conference. Admittedly there is a tax right off in the trip but more importantly is the chance to network and learn from other Realtors® from around the globe.

Think about it for a second. If you want to know who is having trouble paying their mortgage the mailman may be the person to ask. The mailman is the one that is delivering the overdue notices and demand letters from the lenders to the house. It seems they should be the ones we should be asking what's going on in the market. Chances are most children don't pretend to be Realtors® when they are little unless their families were in the business. As kids we thought about being fireman, policemen or teachers. A few of you might have had more lofty ambitions and considered a run for the presidency or flying the space shuttle but the closest most of us got to a real estate career was a game of Monopoly.
