photos: Photos - Do You Use A Professional Or No?

I just met a photographer at my new listing to take photos. Why don't I just take those photos myself? Because I don't have a $7000 camera like he does. I don't have the same "eye" he has. I don't have the professional photo editing software he has. I don't have the skill he has. I know I "could" take my own photos, however, I know I'm not a professional photographer, despite the desire I have to be better at it. At the end of the day, I would rather spend the money (in this case $115) for a professional photographer … (15 comments)

I love putting my copyright on my photography: after all, it's my image, I captured it, I should "own" it, right? Having made the conversion full time from a PC background to an iPad junkie, I was having trouble finding how to do this, until I found Over in the App Store. You can add text, change the font, make it different colors, watermarks - pretty much anything you want to do, and then just save it to your Camera Roll. It's quick & simple - I just added my copyright to this one in less than a minute:

photos: Why So Stingy With Pictures????

This is a full on plea for everyone to use whatever tactics you need to get your fellow listing agents to take, and post more than one picture in the Multiple Listing Service. Why so many listings with only one photo? With the spread of technology and digital photos, it does not cost the listing agent (per se) to take more photos. Are we charged with marketing the property? Yes. Numero Uno way is to use the internet, and guess what? I'm not going to recommend my buyers even waste their time driving by your listing if you can't be bothered … (12 comments)

We all get questions about why particular houses sell and why others don't. Or we get questions about why a house down the street sold in 7 days, and your house is still on the market after 7 or more months. Looking through the Multiple Listing Service today, I was amazed at the number of listings that have ONE EXTERIOR PHOTO. That's it. That's the agent's brilliant marketing plan: let's use the one tool that EVERY REALTOR looks at, and let's put in just one photo. 84% of buyers and sellers access information on the internet before they contact an agent … (6 comments)
