Three generations made it a priority to spend quality time to see the Nutcracker this season (Nana, daughter, daughter-in-law and granddaughter)! We made a day of it....lunch at Tiny Boxwoods and on to the Long Center for Performing Arts.
It's been years since I've been and I'd forgotten how magical a production Ballet Austin presents for its audience! The graceful dancers with their poise and gorgeous costumes transforms the audience into a wonder of imagination for a few hours. Texas Hill Country Regional Christmas Lighting Trail (various cities) Dec. 1 - Jan. 1 10 different communities in the Hill Country wrap their downtown areas with beautiful Christmas lights all December. Pack up the family and check out some of our uniquely Austin Christmas events! Start by seeing: 1. The Zilker Tree stands 155 feet tall and is composed of 39 streamers each holding 81 multicolored, 25 watt bulbs, totaling 3,309 lights. At the top of the tree, a double star measures 10 feet from point to point. The double star displays 150 frosted bulbs. This unique spiral pattern of lights was created by the City of Austin electricians. At its circumference the tree measures 380 feet. The diameter is 120 feet.
