Its true today Handsome Hudson turns six years old, it’s hard to believe! I still remember he waited to arrive until we returned from our vacation six years ago!
We love looking back at past birthdays: 5 years old and 4 years old. I didn’t get the idea from Sharon Tara to make the collages but am going back to recreate his first 3 years as I’m doing with his sister Beautiful Beckett!

It was so fun to watch our granddaughter "Maggie" #2 (pictured) rejoice in their Westwood High School Varsity Girls Volleyball win over McNeil High School! The Austin American Statesman featured this photo and article on the game!
It was a thrilling set of matches but Westwood High Scool came out on top and we are so proud of the girls stamina and willingness to fight tooth and nail to win!

Our NW Austin Coldwell Banker office works hard and plays hard! We are celebrating success and also celebrating knowing the push needed to finish up strong for our real estate business in 2018.
CT Hancock our affiliate lender with Guaranteed Rate Affinity arranged this Happy Hour at the Renaissance Hotel (we could walk over from our office). So much fun to share time with colleagues. Happiness is working (and playing) with great people!

Beautiful Beckett is four years old today! I remember last year when she was three and the year before when she was two and unfortunately on her first birthday I didn’t think to create a collage L (thank you Sharon Tara for the idea). I remember well August 16, 2014 the year Beckett was born in the heat of the summer and Handsome Hudson had strep throat!!
Time is racing by and we continue to be mesmerized with her independent streak, her love of her big brother and her adventuresome spirit!

I was reading a post by Bob Crane (actually re-blogged by Roy Kelley) entitled “The Power of the Abundance Mentality” and it struck a chord! I recently had a transaction with an agent from another company and there were a few mishaps (nothing major) but I appreciated they were acknowledged and addressed immediately, no excuses..just handled.
A week before closing the lender who didn’t seem to know what they were doing was putting the close date in jeopardy. We had an extended closing of 55 days so not having enough time to process the loan was clearly not the issue.

Beautiful Beckett attends Montessori school and participates in their KinderDance class. She loves it! ♥♥ This past week-end they were asked to perform at the half time game of the Spurs at the HEB Center in Cedar Park. What a thrill for them! Beckett is in the center with her hair up in a bow and her arms up in the air! She loves music and dancing!

While in Rome on our recent vacation I made a point to go by the Baroque fountain called Fontana della Barcaccia. It's located in the Piazza di Spagna at the base of my favorite people watching place; the magnificent Spanish Steps.
I asked our guide years back on one of our trips what was the story behind this fountain? He told us it was inspired by a boat that washed up after the Tiber flooded and many refer to it as "the leaky old boat." Memorial Day week-end in Austin offered only one good day of fun in the sun! We took advantage of it with pool time splashing and playing hard with Handsome Hudson and Beautiful Beckett. Prime Rib on the grill, cheese potatoes and salad topped off the day. With tummies full they ended their visit by crawling up in Paw Paw's lap in their pajamas to hear a special story. The end to a very good day...story time with Paw Paw!! ♥♥

Our granddaughter Hailey just finished her sophomore year at Bucknell University. She is on a scholarship playing on the girls volleyball team and has a hectic fall quarter. She found out about a marine biology lab class offered this summer in the British Virgin Islands through her school! She inquired and applied. The class was full but someone dropped out and thank goodness she had her name on the wait list! Now her fall semester will be easier. Never hurts to be in a back up position....just saying.....you never know when you'll be called upon to fill a spot!

Some things never change! Beautiful Beckett has her very own hiding place in her kitchen and loves to crawl in and surprise you with her "Peek a Boo" cry! Last summer I shot a photo of her and last Friday night while babysitting she hopped in and was sure I would be totally surprised with her hiding place! (as if I'd forget). On December 30th, 2014 our son, Jeff Dillard, passed away in his sleep after a long bout with diabetes. He is sorely missed. Our family will never forget his larger than life personality, big smile, mischievous, twinkling eyes and never ending stories and jokes! He adopted the Longhorns and showed everyone what a tailgate was all about. We’re not sure but we think he had orange blood. His devoted wife and two boys fiercely fought for him throughout his illness every day and are now the three musketeers...you'd be proud Jeff.

An etching "La Petite Prisonier" by Spanish artist, Francisco Jose de Goya, inspired wine maker Dave Pinney for his label of his award-winning wine, "The Prisoner."
I liked the Wine Geek review "It is a hedonistic blend of Zinfandel, Cabernet, Syrah, Petite Syrah, a kitchen sink, Grenache and a steering wheel from a '68 Cuda!" LOL!! Geno and I shared a bottle and I highly recommend it!

Last weekend Austin experienced heavy rain all weekend! It was the backlash from Hurricane Patricia and could have been much worse! Formula 1 qualifying rounds were cancelled Saturday morning and moved to Sunday morning with the race beginning at 2 Sunday afternoon.
Handsome Hudson had a ball playing in the puddles! Way to nail it, Hudson!

Thankful Thursday~ The sweetest flower of all!!
Handsome Hudson and his sister Beautiful Beckett, mom and dad recently visited Sweet Berry Farms in Marble Falls, Texas. So many animals to see, pumpkins to touch, flowers to smell and berries to eat!
Hudson smiling from this patch of flowers reminded me of a quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson: “The earth laughs in flowers.”

On our recent Eastern Mediterranean cruise another wonderful port stop was Athens, Greece. We have been many times and walked the slick marble steps to the Acropolis, visited the Parthenon, Temple of Hephaestus and enjoyed shopping in the Plaka. It’s been smoggy with insufferable traffic when we’ve been before so what a pleasant surprise to find it was a clear, blue skies and warm but not unbearable and the traffic not near as congested.
The good fortunes brought by the 2004 Summer Olympics has shaped Athens into a vibrant city filled with spotless parks and streets, an ultra-modern subway, new freeways … (27 comments)
