What could be better than squeezing in one more Happy Closing Day before the new year? Not a lot in my book. I love happy buyers and I love Happy Closing Days!
I do remember all of my settlements but there are some that stand out more than others.. in a good way. This one today I won't soon forget. My buyers put an enormous amount of trust in me, purchasing their first home in Maryland sight unseen. When seller meets buyer...
... it's often not a good thing. Mr. Seller could give too much away, e.g., motivation for selling, flexibility in terms of price, repairs, settlement date .. in short a lot that the buyer could use to not present his highest and best offer.
The buyer usually does not feel free to explore the home, is hesitant to open doors and peek behind curtains, doesn't ask his agent the questions he really wants to ask and doesn't take the time to really look around.

Today was Happy Closing Day for another of my First Time Maryland Home Buyer-couples. It's always an honor to be part of such an exciting experience! My buyers are now proud owners of a 1907 Victorian in historic Mount Rainier, MD. 
Historic Mount Rainier (has been rumored to be(come) the new Takoma Park) is home to a thriving arts community, The Gateway Arts Districts. What better way to surprise my buyers than with art by a local artist?
