Above is a photo of some of the volunteers that have helped restore our local Three Sisters Reserve to attract birds once again. Since we have had all sorts of environmental changes to the land, (fire, weather, etc.) it has taken several years of hard work to get this green life to appear at the Reserve. Palos Verdes homes owners and other volunteers have made these changes possible. For the last 56 years the Neighborhood Church has been presenting the Yule Parlor Parade. This year it will be held on Friday & Saturday, December 7 & 8, 2012. The Home Tour itself is from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and the Tea and Boutique is held in the Fellowship Hall from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m.

I am happy to report that Palos Verdes real estate statistics for October 2012 again indicate a solid market. 55 Palos Verdes houses sold in October which is a slight decrease from the 58 homes that sold in September. Pending sales are way up in October with 72 Palos Verdes single family homes pending compared to 56 in September. The number of active Palos Verdes homes for sale in October decreased to 152 homes compared to 171 homes in September. Our inventory of homes for sale is the lowest in recent memory. Recently, the API scores were announced and the Palos Verdes Unified School District showed another performance increase.
Walker Williams, the School Superintendent, announced, “In the spirit of “continuous improvement,” the District’s Academic Performance Index (API) score grew once again from 919 to 923 in 2012. The percentage of students scoring proficient or advanced in both English Language Arts & Math remains impressive. Forbes recently posted its annual list of 100 America’s Most Expensive Zip Codes and Palos Verde homes owners will be excited to know that the Peninsula is home to two of them.
The City of Rolling Hills 90274 was #9 on the list showing a median price of $3,972,500, a 76.6% median price increase, average days on market was 124 and current active inventory is 61. Palos Verdes Estates 90274 was #74 on the list showing a median price of $1,849,955, a 22.3% median price increase, average days on market was 143 and current active inventory is 171.

Palos Verdes real estate statistics for September 2012 again indicate a solid market. 57 Palos Verdes houses sold in September which is a slight decrease from the 59 homes that sold in August. September pending sales increased to 62 from the 53 Palos Verdes single family homes pending in August. The number of active Palos Verdes homes for sale in September was just about the same – 171 homes compared to 170 homes in August. Our inventory of homes for sale is the lowest in recent memory.
