Call Me “Tree Hugger” – The Beautiful Foliage of Colorado
Throughout history trees have held spiritual meanings ranging from energy, fairness, renewal, rebirth, protection, and strength. As you know, I work for ASPEN Lane Real Estate in Colorado. Colorado is very well known for its vast landscapes of changing golden Aspen leaves in early fall.
 
Did you know that one of the largest living organisms in the world is a grove of Aspen trees here in Colorado? How can that be you ask? Well, you see, Aspens grow through a process called “suckering” where each new Aspen shoots off the root of the mother tree as an identical clone. The root system can grow up to 40 feet from the original source in attempts to seek water and procreate.
 


Recently we here at Aspen Lane took a day to go visit these beauties. When you first come upon them it seems as though the leaves are glittering flakes of gold rustling in the wind. Silence your voice and you will hear the distinct rush of these flakes overtaking the forest.
