Throughout history trees have held spiritual meanings ranging from energy, fairness, renewal, rebirth, protection, and strength. As you know, I work for ASPEN Lane Real Estate in Colorado. Colorado is very well known for its vast landscapes of changing golden Aspen leaves in early fall.

Did you know that one of the largest living organisms in the world is a grove of Aspen trees here in Colorado? How can that be you ask? Well, you see, Aspens grow through a process called “suckering” where each new Aspen shoots off the root of the mother tree as an identical clone. The root system can grow up to 40 feet from the original source in attempts to seek water and procreate.

SHOWCASING COLORADO
Recently we here at Aspen Lane took a day to go visit these beauties. When you first come upon them it seems as though the leaves are glittering flakes of gold rustling in the wind. Silence your voice and you will hear the distinct rush of these flakes overtaking the forest. Silence your mind and you will truly understand why it is believed that the Aspens are the “Voice of the Spirit from Beyond”. For many generations it has been said that the message of the Aspens, when understood by the human mind, will answer the questions of life’s meaning.

 SHOWCASING COLORADO

As we were challenged to showcase our home state, my first thought was “what better to share than our beautiful Aspens”. So many Colorado folks have shared gorgeous pictures of our mountains, lakes & streams, wildlife galore, and more! I find myself so lucky to live in Colorado and am most certainly proud to be a native.

Erin I so miss the fall in Colorado.  I used to travel around quite often when I lived there and the drive through Glenwood Canyon was always spectacular as well as the Aspen's near Aspen.  Guess I'd better buzz up and enjoy the colors while they're still showing their magical powers.

Hi Erin - While we may not have the wide variety of colors that are typical back east, the sheer splendor of a big stand of aspen turning golden in the mountains is a match for anything. We have a big one in the front of our house, but at this altitude, it's show isn't quite the same.
