California Residents Help Bring Injustice to Gov. Brown's Attention
Family, friends and neighbors of Californian, Ryan Mickey, are trying to shed some light on a mistake made by our justice system in 2006.  This is a hard story to read and study, as a mother of two myself, I instantly had this man guilty in my mind...but then you read, and you listen to the evidence, and science shows that in this case, the justice system failed.  I became friends with his family, THEN I learned that they had a family member in prison for the death of this little girl...my mama bear defenses immediately were working overtime...but then I read all the articles, and listened to the 911 call, listened to his story and met his several times in person.  This man, who at the time was young and impulsive maybe, but family and heart were hugely embedded in him.  He loved this little girl like his own and was a very important caretaker in her life.  Technology was overlooked and not used to its fullest, science was ignored...and someone who should have been presumed innocent until proven guilty...was presumed guilty and no one fought hard enough, despite is family's pleas, to prove him innocent.  In the tragic death ... more
