Colorado Springs, nestled at the base of Pikes Peak, lies at an altitude of 6,035 feet and, combined with our fresh, mountain air, makes for a perfect athlete-training atmosphere. Home to the flagship training center of the U.S. Olympic Committee and the Olympic Training Center programs, Colorado Springs is also the USOC headquarters.   http://www.teamusa.org/About-the-USOC/Training-Centers-and-Sites/Colorado-Springs

With all this high altitude clean air, please keep in mind to stay well hydrated while you're visiting Colorado during our upcoming ski season. Some of the best powder in the world is right here in the Rocky Mountains due to our snow's low moisture content (usually 4-7%). Whether your skiing, hiking, biking, or just out dog walking be sure to bring along water for you and your 4-legged friend.
