When I saw that Kathleen Daniels had a contest going in April asking for our biggest pet peeves in the industry, I found the hardest part was picking just one.  Then I realized that many of my pet peeves can be lumped into the category of real estate agents not taking their job seriously...so that is my major pet peeve.
As someone who truly values their real estate license and does everything in my power to elevate the profession, many times I feel I'm pushing a boulder up hill in my market.  Shoddy practices of agents who seem burdened by the duties that comes with representing a client seem to be a daily occurrence.  Here are a few of the bg things I've come across in the last two months:
Listing Agent hasn't renewed their Sentrilock membership and can't put on a proper lockbox.  Key was left in a mailbox in a crime ridden neighborhood.  Mind you, dues at that point were two months past due.  Absolutely shameful.  If you can't afford to be in the business, get out!
Buyer's Agent (Mr. Big Shot) calls and expresses to me how busy he's been the last month. ... more
