All We Need Are Bar Stools And The Kitchen Will Be Complete
As most of you know we recently moved. I've been promising to share some before and after photos of all the work we have been doing on our new home.
Today I will start with the kitchen.
The kitchen showed well at the open house...not the colors I would choose...but appealing to most potential buyers. Very spacious with lots of cabinets.
I knew if we purchased the house we would be replacing all appliances...they were 13 years old and in poor condition.
 
 
I knew the backsplash had to go...far too busy and trendy for me.
More importantly, it was not actual tile. It was poorly applied, stick-on fake stuff.
The counter tops weren't great...but I thought maybe I could live with them for awhile.
I really wanted a white kitchen, so I figured the cabinets would need painting.
 
 
The day we closed on the house my first job was peeling off the fake tile.
Most of it came off very easily, but in some spots the sheetrock pulled off with it.
Imagine my surprise to find curtain rod brackets under the "tile".
The "tile" was applied right over them.
 
My husband patched the wall, where needed, in anticipation for real tile.
