canada: CANADA FINALLY MAKES THE SWITCH TO METRIC TIME - IT IS ABOUT TIME! - 04/01/12 02:44 AM
As many are well aware, Canada spent much of its time converting from the imperial system of measurement to the metric system in the 1970s and as the 1970s drew to a close, the final stages of metric conversion were being emblazoned onto the minds of Canadians with the temperature recordings changing from Fahrenheit to Celsius, yards to metres, pounds to kilograms, etc.    Like a foreign language being introduced said so many Seniors.   Very difficult to understand, said others.
And here we are in 2012, finally able to fit the last piece to the puzzle:  Metric Time.   Simply put, as with … (31 comments)

canada: THE WORLD ENCONOMY IS GOING DOWN THE DRAIN BECAUSE . . . - 01/15/09 09:19 AM
"The world economy is going down the drain because of some repossessed, boarded up, unsellable homes in Cleveland."
But how does that bring down a 60 or 70 trillion dollar world economy is a whole other story!

canada: UPLIFTING SHORT FILM WHEN YOU NEED IT MOST! - 10/27/08 05:43 AM
(especially today - it is SNOWING!)  Autumn in my favourite time of year and the period in which I seem to accomplish so much.  I don't ever forget the importance of taking time-outs though to allow me to re-generize, re-group and re-assemble the parts of my life that can sometimes feel like the wheels have fallen off!
I give to you this beautiful movie to enjoy as often as you feel you need to.  Sit back, take a moment and simply enjoy:

canada: CANADIAN HOUSING MARKET CONDITIONS - 10/21/08 05:25 AM
There has been alot of talk about real estate in the news in recent months.  We've heard about declining housing starts, falling existing home sales, double-digit price depreciation, subprime fallout and foreclosures in the United States.  Fortunately WE LIVE IN CANADA and Canadian real estate markets are far better positioned than their American counterparts for a good number of reasons:
Subprime mortgages represent less than 5% of our market nationally Foreclosures occur in about 1/4 of 1% of mortgage transactions in this country. Canadians have more equity in their homes We have less debt than our neighbours south of the border … (3 comments)

canada: You're most like the 3 people with whom you spend the most time! - 06/02/08 10:36 AM
Is that a frightening thought ?  We're most like the 3 people with whom we spend the most time.
Give this some thought . . .   Who would be your three people?

Do they constantly talk about the state of the market or are they too busy working to give it a second thought?
How many people in your life crave the drama, the trauma?
Are they skilled engineers, making mountains of molehills?
However, on the reverse side of the coin . . .
Whose … (20 comments)
