Early Autumn is a great time to talk a walk around Old Town Alexandria VA. It's very pleasant because of the typically mild weather and leaves blazing with color. The picture above was taking from the front door of 115 N. Lee St. at the Torpedo Factory condos. The leaves have accumulated behind Alexandria's Carlyle House. Residents at the Torpedo Factory are particularly fortunate because of their proximity to King St. and the waterfront. (The Torpedo Factory scored a perfect 100 Walk Score.)
I like the mornings near the waterfront, before the tourists arrive.

The Pie Social was a big hit with members of the Alexandria Fun with Friends group. Members pitched in to bring pies and a supporting cast of whipped cream, milk, coffee and teas. The group relaxed with a few games and chatted the evening away. I tried to taste them all but there were just too many and they were just too good. I definitely look forward to the next time around with this one.

Eurogames are games that emphasize strategy, downplay luck, lean towards economic (trading and building) rather than military themes, and have attractive physical components. Alexandria's Festival of Arts is an annual event in Old Town with more than 200 artists who display and sell fine art ranging from paintings, sculpture, prints and photography to pottery, glass, jewelry and ceramics. The goal of the Alexandria Fun with Friends Group is to have fun and make friends through gaming get-togethers, social activities and local excursions. This group has has also organized events around laser tag, karaoke, bowling, ballroom dancing and the theater. We've even hosted a few barbecues. Most of us are not experts in these activities, but some of us are, we enjoy teaching others about our favored hobbies. Friday April 3rd, several members of the Alexandria Fun with Friends group will be in attendance along with a friendly crowd of regulars at Studio One.
