Many homeowners who are considering selling their Olympia WA home are looking at the calendar, seeing the school buses back on the roads, sipping their pumpkin spiced lattes and are wondering if they missed the summer real estate market.

There is a lot of misinformation out there about the real estate market in Olympia, WA that is causing all kinds of problems for both buyers and sellers. Buyers and sellers are asking, is this a good time to buy/sell?
It’s no wonder there is so much confusion. Even today, the real estate headline in our local paper touts how great this “balanced market” is for buyers. Huh? A balanced market? This is just not correct. The Olympia, WA market is squarely in a seller’s market.
If buyers were solely guided by what they read in today’s paper, they would be missing out (5 comments)

But the fear of the unknown stops many buyers and sellers dead in their tracks. They wander from open house to open house like the walking dead, not knowing where to start or where to go. Sellers may feel apprehensive about contacting an agent and worry about the costs to sell. They decide to list on their own and hope for the best. Real estate is only scary when you don’t have the information you need to (2 comments)

Thinking about selling? You can! In 2005 and 2006, the Thurston County real estate market was saturated with new construction that was meant to supply the demand in 2003 and 2004. This overhang of supply coupled with a significant percentage of distressed sales (short-sales and foreclosures) reaching 34% of the market, caused an oversupply that would persist for the next five years. With the increasing supply (1 comments)
