Most cities roll up their sidewalks and go home for the weekend.
Not so in Carmel-by-the-Sea.
Here store owners take time off in the middle of the week but are open on Sundays. Especially on beautiful days like today, people will flock in from all over to amble down Ocean Avenue (which continues west to the Pacific Ocean), to see and be seen, many of them with their pooches. There are several little cafes along the avenue which do brisk business.
