When I first started in this line of work I had just finished 29 years in law enforcement. For those years I was told what to wear, when to show and a lot of people told me where to go. I was not going to be told I had to wear anything or be at a certain place and time. No sir I was an independent agent and that was that.

Winning in today's market requires you step up and flex your muscles without getting out of the boundary of your state law(s) code of ethics or your individual brokers policy and procedures.
To do this you must have the mindset to take steps that maybe others in your individual office might not have thought. This may consist of nothing more than placing your listing on one of the websites that specialize in real estate. Do you like to write? Maybe a newspaper or magazine editorial is in your sights. That's right all the client(s) you have, have different values and you need to remain flexible to accommodate them. I've made a particle list and we'll go over them to see where you are.
Quality - We all strive to give the client quality service, support, advice, convenience at a cost that is reasonable. However I ask you do you treat the 50K client the same that you do the 500K? If so good for you because that is what we are in the business to do.

I started on ActiveRain on 01.26.09 and wrote my first blog on 02.02.09. I have tried to keep whatever heading I started out with no matter what the subject and relate it to real estate in some sort or fashion. I think I've done a pretty good job but I have been neglecting posts lately and it has shown.

It's almost time again for my annual meeting with the broker(s). They want me to bring my goals for next year and my schedule among other things and that got me to thinking.
My goals this year was to survive and I did. I did so and achieved what goals I had set for myself and surpassed those so far it surprised me. Over the weekend I had some company come in and visit. We went out to eat Saturday and Sunday morning both we both woke up sick. Won't go into a log vivid description but it did not take a brain surgeon to figure out we had a touch of food poison. It being a Sunday I had a choice to make. I went to our weekly sales meeting last week. As I sat down I was not ready for the talk I was about to receive. Keep in mind for 29 years I was a hard-core cop. I find myself doing what I said I would not do. When I was a police officer and met up with other law enforcement officers no matter where it was without fail we would talk shop. That is we would talk about what was going on in the business. It didn't make any difference if it was a State, county or municipality it was all the same. Each had it own thing going wrong and there was always room for improvement. Okay I understand having a web presence is something one needs to a certain extent in today's market. However do you need your own individual web site? I have tried a couple of different web builders that are reported to be BIG HITTERS in the business but for me so far they are duds.
They have not produced what they promised and I am to the point to where I will have a CHEAP and I do mean cheap site with just basic information data and that's it.

Brothers and sisters let me tell you I have just overcome one of the most difficult barriers of my short career in this business.
I have been dealing with this client from another country with a language barrier and I am now beginning to understand what she is saying. Also I now know there was some trust issues on the client's part but within the last two weeks I have successfully overcame that issue.

But I haven't retired and I live in Bella Vista. Just because it has 12 tennis courts, several stocked lakes and some of the most beautiful golf courses in the State just to start are some of the things that draw people to Bella Vista. We also have two swimming pools and two putt-putt golf courses and several play grounds for the little ones. Want to go biking or walking, we have trails for that to.

Okay it's time to ask. I've approached it several ways and I know I've lost out either way I've gone. I have been told to go about it several ways and I guess now is as good as any to discuss the variables so why wait:

Such simple yet profound words when you think about them. Think about it for a moment.
When you were young and just learning to speak you listened to your parents or guardian tell you the words they wanted you to say and you by listening you learned and spoke.

That statement was my intent when I started this job and you know how long that lasted. This is the second in the NEVER and ALWAYS wording wonders.
Take for instance the agent who makes the fatal error that says "I ALWAYS take my lunch at 11:00 to 12:00 no matter what.
