bentonville arkansas real estate: Ever had someone pull a “levant” on you? - 02/01/12 10:03 PM

Ever had someone pull a “levant” on you?
You bet ya I have more than once.  The problem is I know it’s going to happen again but I do hope it is not as often.  Of course while you’re reading this post start wondering how many times this has happened to you.  Now I guess it would be a good time to give you the meaning of (le vant’) is to disappear unexpectedly, leaving unpaid debt.  So now what say you?

bentonville arkansas real estate: Isn’t it nice to find an “empyreal” for your client? - 01/29/12 10:30 PM

Isn’t it nice to find an “empyreal” for your client?
OK if you can’t figure this one out before I give you the meaning you would be like me if I was reading this.  You can tell when you first open the door and the look in your clients’ eyes or the first words out of their mouth.  Hint…. Hint…. So the meaning of (em pir’e el) is heavenly; sublime.  You know you have a winner when the sparkle hits their eyes or WOW comes out of their mouth.  Now where did I put that contract?  Enjoy your day

bentonville arkansas real estate: I’ve suffered from “ringent” have you? - 01/24/12 10:22 PM

I’ve suffered from “ringent” have you?
While browsing through Webster’s® today I came across this word and was trying to figure out how to use it in a post.  This has happened to me in the past and I’m sure it will happen again.  The question I would ask you if it has ever happened to you or one of your clients?  The meaning of (rin’jent) is having the mouth wide open; gaping.  So how many times has this happened to you?

bentonville arkansas real estate: I’ve dealt with a “haberdasher” have you? - 01/21/12 09:55 PM

I’ve dealt with a “haberdasher” have you?
I have had dealings with these people and I bet most men have also.  Ladies I’m not leaving you out of this you have dealt with these people also I’m sure of that.  They are in most stores but not all of them.  The meaning of (hab’ er dash’er) is a person whose work or business is selling men’s furnishings, such as hats, shirts, neckties and gloves.  Now that you know the meaning what say you?

bentonville arkansas real estate: I’ve walked into a home that was “foudroyant” have you? - 01/20/12 10:52 PM

I’ve walked into a home that was “foudroyant” have you?
I’ve done it a few times but not many.  All the homes my clients have purchased have risen to this quality.  I would like to think most property at one time or the other was this but then beauty is in the eye of the beholder.  Now for the meaning of (foo droi’ent) it is simply dazzling or stunning.  You know you have the right home when your client walks in and says WOW!!  What say you?

bentonville arkansas real estate: Do you “digitigrade’ around some of the homes you show? - 01/19/12 10:13 PM

Do you “digitigrade’ around some of the homes you show?
For some of you this won’t be hard to figure out before I give you the meaning. As for me I would not have a clue unless I read the rest of this post.  If you comment on this I would like to know what your first thought was before reading the meaning speaking of which the meaning of (-grad) walking on the toes with the heels not touching the ground.  So have you walked on your toes while showing property?  What say you?

bentonville arkansas real estate: In my next life I want to be a “bonvivant”. - 01/17/12 10:30 PM

In my next life I want to be a “bonvivant”.
Yes ladies and gentlemen I would like to do this when I return but if it was offered to me now I would drop real estate and take my place with this profession.  I say profession but I really am torn to call this a profession.  Without further adieu the meaning of (ban vi vant’) a person who enjoys good food and drink and other luxuries.  Good food and drink the first person that comes to mind would (other than me) be Roger Mucci.  From his writings I believe me … (9 comments)

bentonville arkansas real estate: I had no idea they have a word for this. - 01/16/12 11:15 PM

I had no idea they have a word for this.
Yep I called it something totally different but comes to find out there is a word for this.  I wonder how many of you knew this word and what it meant.  The word is “cocotte” and it makes me wonder who in the world thought of this one.  Anyway the meaning of (ko kat’) is a small casserole for a single portion of food.  Who would have thunk it?

bentonville arkansas real estate: I like a big “ambry” it’s just me. - 01/15/12 10:03 PM

I like a big “ambry” it’s just me.
I remember my mom’s home had a large one and I enjoyed going in there.  Now these are hard to find.  I sure do miss those days but the memories will last me all my days.  Not much left to say about these so here is the meaning of (am’bre) a cupboard, locker or pantry.  In my mom’s home she had a walk in pantry and it was sooooo big.  Needless to say she had it stocked to the ceiling great memories.

bentonville arkansas real estate: I like things and people who are “sapid” do you? - 01/14/12 10:24 PM

I like things and people who are “sapid” do you?
I like this word but I’m thinking on how I can use it in a sentence today.  Not that I don’t have anything to do just a showing at 01:00 PM back to the office for a listing contract for Monday and the list goes on.  But back to the word of the day the meaning of (sap’id) is having a pleasing taste; savory and the second meaning is agreeable to the mind; interesting; engaging. Now what say you?

bentonville arkansas real estate: An interesting sighting… - 10/11/11 11:52 PM

An interesting sighting…

The other day I was driving near Rogers, AR. in beautiful NW Arkansas.  I was behind a vehicle with a pink ribbon on the license plate and a bumper sticker that said “Save the ta-tas.”  Anyway as I was travelling following this vehicle I saw a females hand come out of the driver’s side window with a cigarette in it.  As we went on the smoke and cigarette showed up several times.  I wondered if it was just a fad the license plate or did she really think she was making a statement.
Sorry I couldn’t … (11 comments)

bentonville arkansas real estate: Origin of Left & Right - 10/10/11 11:39 PM

I looked it up and it’s there, you can interrupt it as you like.  I make no other comment just found it interesting

I have often wondered why it is that Conservatives are called the "right" and Liberals are called the "left."  By chance I stumbled upon this verse in the Bible:  "The heart of the wise inclines to the right,  but the heart of the fool to the left."  Ecclesiastes 10:2 (NIV)  Thus sayeth the Lord. Amen.  Can't get any simpler than that.

bentonville arkansas real estate: Hearing aid!!! - 10/09/11 12:06 AM

A man got a new hearing aid and called a friend to tell him about it.  The friend asked him to come on over to his house so he could see it.  When the man arrived the friend looked at it, the man put it back in his ear.  The friend stated “That’s a great looking hearing aid what kind is it?”  The man was looking at his watch and said “It’s about 6.”  So how often do we really listen to our clients or like the man with the hearing aid do we to concentrate on what is being … (14 comments)

bentonville arkansas real estate: What is your focus? - 10/08/11 12:59 AM

What is your focus?
When looking at Webster’s© there are several meanings to this one word.  The one I’m going to use today is: to fix or settle on one thing; concentrate.  We as agents can’t focus on any one thing as real estate takes in so many facets but we should have knowledge of the local market, the contracts and what they are saying and their meaning.  I know enough to get me in trouble but I learn something new every day what say you?

bentonville arkansas real estate: Home Improvement Project - 10/05/11 11:17 PM

You know those products that say you just spray it on your house and WALAH!!!  Like magic your siding is sparkling clean and looks like new.  SCAM!!! Charlatans!!!  By the time we got through today we looked like we’d been on the giant water slide at Six Flags and didn’t have nearly as much fun.  We were ready to file for divorce and just burn the house down and forget the whole thing.  Next year…we’re hiring a guy with a pressure washer, save ourselves a lot of money; we’re going to need for home improvement therapy…

bentonville arkansas real estate: Sister Mary - 10/02/11 11:27 PM

Sister Mary, who worked for a home health agency, was out making her rounds visiting homebound patients when she ran out of gas. As luck would have it, a gas station was just a block away. She walked to the station to borrow a gas can and buy some gas.

The attendant told her that the only gas can he owned had been loaned out, but she could wait until it was returned.

Since the nun was on the way to see a patient, she decided not to wait and walked back to her car. She looked for … (11 comments)

bentonville arkansas real estate: Daylight Saving Time - 09/30/11 11:46 PM

When told the reason for daylight saving time the Old Indian said, “Only the Government would believe that you could cut a foot off the top of a blanket, sew it to the bottom, and have a longer blanket.”
The phone rings this morning and deep into a sleepy fog I hear it but roll over, cover my head and ignore it. A minute later it rings again. Same thing, roll over, climb deeper into the warm covers and ignore it. On the third ring I decide it must be important so I reluctantly climb out of my sleepy cocoon … (11 comments)

bentonville arkansas real estate: Then nun and the cab driver - 09/28/11 12:18 AM

This one has been around for several turns.  I had to make some changes to it but not lose the essence of the post.  Enjoy

A cab driver picks up a nun. She asks him why he is staring. He replies: "I have a question to ask you, but I don't want to offend you. Well, I've always had a fantasy to have a nun kiss me." She responds, "first, you have to be single & you must be Catholic." ... ... ... He says, "Yes, I'm single & Catholic!" The nun kisses the driver then asks why he … (12 comments)
