There are often some interesting extremes in the Carlsbad housing market. Sometimes you can’t help but wonder about these statistics.
What is the range of pricing, especially on the beach? Why does someone have a home that large, or that small? Why is a home not selling and sitting on the market for so long? Ask meI have some thoughts on these homes!
For fun I took a look at some of the extremes for detached single family homes currently listed for sale and those that sold in 2018, and pass them along here.
The 92010 area of Carlsbad includes the communities of Calavera Hills, Tamarack Point, The Summit, The Foothills at Carlsbad, Spinnaker Hill, Pacific Estates, Carlsbad Meadows, Tanglewood (condos), the new planned community of Robertson Ranch (new construction detached single family homes), and other neighborhoods further west but east of El Camino Real.
The 92010 area of Carlsbad offers a variety of attached (condos, townhomes, twin homes) and detached single family homes for buyers to choose from in a wide range of prices, sizes and styles.
This is not brand new news, but important nonetheless. I meant to post about it some weeks ago to share the news about our community by the sea.
Realtor.com ranked the 92010 area of Carlsbad, one of the 4 zips, in the top 10 hottest zip codes in the US, based on inventory, rate of sales, prices and affordability, among other factors – you can read the full article here.

“This place is overpriced” has been a common phrase for quite some time, particularly during what was our declining market these last 6 years. Perhaps it always will be. It’s not unlike uttering “I’m just looking” when accosted by a sales person in a retail store.
It sounds authoritative, like it’s coming from someone who is in the know. That may be, in some circumstances.
