As a Carlsbad buyer, you may want to buy a home in a specific school district. And that's understandable.
However, if you are buying in the 92009 area of Carlsbad (La Costa) do NOT assume your kids will attend a certain school without verifying. Children in Carlsbad 92009 may attend one of three different school districts and you have some options if you prefer your children go to the Encinitas Schools as opposed to San Marcos or Carlsbad.

As a Carlsbad buyer, buying a home in a ertain school district may be particularly important. That's understandable. So focus your search with that requirement in mind.
But you need to be careful, because children in Carlsbad may attend one of three different school districts depending on your home's location within Carlsbad's 4 zip codes - 92008, 92009, 92010 and 92011. Do not assume that your kids will go to the Carlsbad Unified School District, which may be a preference, without doing your due diligence.
