outlook: Outlook question: Can I have separate Inboxes; one for work and one that's more personal? - 10/22/09 07:53 AM
(This applies to OUtlook 2007 and Outlook 2003) Full Question: I've configured my personal and work email addresses on Outlook and both are working fine. My only issue is that I would like for both to have separate Inboxes. Right now both are being directed to the same (and only) Inbox on Outlook, any suggestions? One solution: Create a new subfolder(s) then use a rule to move messages received from one email account (personal) to the appropriate new folder. It can be that easy. Remember to send me an email if you have any Outlook questions.

outlook: Requesting Email Receipts - Part 1 - 04/30/09 08:45 AM
What are they and how you should use them?
(Applies to Microsoft Outlook 2003 and Outlook 2007) Receipts are simply a request for acknowledgement that the recipient received your email. The problem with these is that as a recipient I can choose whether or not I want to send a receipt (acknowledgement) to the person who sent me the email. When would someone send a Request for Receipt? Since the recipient has the option to send a receipt or not this should be used when the email is important enough that you want to ask for acknowledgement of receipt. If the … (0 comments)

outlook: You Should and Shouldn't Create 2 Contact Folders - Outlook - 04/23/09 08:20 AM
I received the following Outlook question from an agent in Seattle...
How can I create two Contact folders in Outlook?
Before you create another folder consider the following:
* Why perhaps you shouldn't create another folder:
Instead of a separate contact folder could this be a new Category? When syncing most programs sync with the primary contact folder.  Yes there are add-ins you can get to sync sub folders. Now you have two contact folders to maintain In some instances you will need to move a contact from one folder to another * Why perhaps you should create another folder:

Bloggers, social networkers and web site owners!
There has been a lot of publicity recently on a variety of real estate blogs, discussions and websites about using Outlook to send text messages to someone's cell phone, I also posted on this topic.
TEXTING IS ALL THE RAGE!
However, after serious thought to this issue (sharing my cell texting address with others) I began to have concerns about control, privacy and security.  I sure don't want my cell phone to get clogged with SPAM!
With this texting trend there may be a time in the not to distant future where you and I will be … (3 comments)

outlook: A quick tip to: Tackle Your Inbox with Vigor! - 03/04/09 06:46 AM
Organize your Inbox by converting Outlook 2007 e-mail into tasks When you receive e-mails you need to act on — but not right away — consider turning them into tasks, complete with follow-up reminders.
While you’re working on a report due tomorrow, you stop to check your e-mail. Some of your messages need attention, but you don’t have time to work on them now. You could flag each e-mail for follow-up, but you might end up with an Inbox cluttered with flagged e-mails. You could move all messages to a To-do folder, but by the time you get around to going … (3 comments)

outlook: Prospects and Clients: Streamlining communication video - 07/31/08 08:48 AM
I know one of the hopes we have is to streamline our communication with clients and prospects.  Why?  We know that if we do this effectively we will benefit by saving time (streamlining) and see an increase in our business (more referrals and higher conversion rates with prospects becoming clients).
Unfortunately about 95% of us...
wing it, others put it off (communicating/marketing) and others are sporadic...inconsistent Which are you?
If you are one of the few that consistently communicate with both your clients and prospects...congrats!  If you fall into the other 95% or so...this Two-Minute Video Tip should encourage you to join the 5% (or so) group.

outlook: Are your clients using Top Producer? - 07/05/08 01:09 PM
I was wondering if I could get your comments on Top Producer 7i or 8i.  I have noticed several agents migrating away from Top Producer to other programs, such as Microsoft's Outlook.
As a title rep I am curious what you are hearing from your clients about Top Producer 7i or 8i.  Anything?
Are your clients using Top Producer? What do they like about it? What don't they like about Top Producer? Are they having problems using Top Producer with their Smart Phone? Paying to access your own database This is not a scientific poll or survey but I will post a … (2 comments)

outlook: Are you using Top Producer 7i or 8i? - 07/05/08 01:01 PM
I was wondering if I could get your comments on Top Producer 7i or 8i.  I have noticed several agents migrating away from Top Producer to other programs, such as Microsoft's Outlook.
I am curious what current Top Producer users think about:
Paying to access your own database Having to Export your data to create labels or form letters Is the program quick or cumbersome? Are you having issues with your smart phone...do you feel "held hostage" with the limitation of choices? Are you considering using another programs?  If so, which come to mind? Creating a Client Communication Strategy - Part 3: Streamlining customer correspondence
This post is lengthy but well worth you time to  try this out...it's been a great time saver for me.
There are many things to consider when creating a Client Communication Strategy...one of them is How to Streamline your Customer Correspondence.
As a salesperson, a big part of your job is creating new business opportunities; you do this by sending out regular sales correspondence to customers so they think of you when the topic of "real estate" comes up.  To streamline this task of correspondence (follow up with your customers … (19 comments)

Outlook Users:
Look for a post coming in a few days about how you can take letters you use all the time and very quickly access them, and copy and paste them into a email or mailmerge letter.  And "no" you won't use the Copy and Paste actions.
Intrigued?  Look for it to arrive here no later then this Thursday.

outlook: I'm curious...what would you pay for training on Outlook - 05/27/08 07:34 PM
I know you are real busy...but if you could take just 60 seconds and share your thoughts...that would be great!  I'm interested in finding out how and what agents think about getting technology training they want and need.
What would be your first step to finding someone who provided training on Outlook?
Go online and search? Ask people you know? What is the most important to you when you need training...
Cost Specific Topic How much training you'll receive (i.e. 1 hour, 2 hours, etc) Complimentary Tech Support Convenience What would you be willing to pay for a one-on-one session that lasted 60 minutes?

outlook: Outlook Users...Custom Contact Form - 05/20/08 02:30 AM
Has anyone taken the time to create a Custom Contact form?
I'd love to hear your experiences with this.
I have created two - one about 4 years ago with Outlook 2000 and another within the last 6 months.  I found it a little frustrating when it came to exporting (to back up the data) and importing...I couldn't get it to do either.  I did not try exporting as a .pst file...I always export as a .csv.
I know there are "add-ons" you can buy...any feedback on your experiences with that would also be appreciated.
If you've attempted and or succeeded with … (0 comments)
