When buying a home in Dutchess County a major consideration will be where will you work?  The Dutchess County Economic Development Corporation has provided data as to who are the largest employers.  Topping the list is IBM with about 11,590 employees according to data available in March 2009.  Besides IBM many of the jobs are found in government with the majority of these jobs in the Poughkeepsie area.   With large schooel districts and 3 well known colleges, Vassar, Marist, and Bard, many are employed in the field of education. … (8 comments)
